What do you get when you mix post-rock/shoegaze atmospheric landscapes with black metal riffs and blast beats? Epic awesomeness is the answer! And that is what Brighton band Sorrow Plagues delivers in spades to the listeners. Officially a one man solo project started by musician David Lovejoy, he has recruited local musicians to help recreate his his newly written album in all of its spectacular glory in a live setting for local gigs.

An album is due to be released very soon from them and it promises to be deep, thoughtful, inspiring, and loud.
The band have also announced that their first gig as a band will be on November 4th at The Green Door Store in Brighton. That is a date for your calendars if you love metal that is uniquely different from the standard metal being played to death.
We in Brighton are extremely lucky that the metal scene is thriving and going from strength to strength lately. Sorrow Plagues will inspire other local and national metal bands to up their game and think outside of the box. Metal should be about pushing boundaries and the boundaries have just been shifted into a new orbit!
