Another fantastic night of rock from local talent in Brighton was on display at The Green Door Store. These free entry nights are great for people to discover committed local bands who play truly for the love of performing.
The Dead Reds are a tight playing rock band from Brighton. They have charisma, swagger, and confidence as well as catchy songs which the crowd eagerly bob their heads to all set.

Added interest to the songs comes from traded lead lines from the guitar and harmonica. Crushing drums and a strong vocal also combine to give their set a full sound, The Dead Reds are a well rehearsed band which put on one hell of show.
The headliners of the evening are another local band called Clever Thing. They describe themselves as a combination of Billie Holiday and Black Flag. They definitely have the enthusiasm and energy of a punk band but have a sense of melody which most punk bands do not.

This female fronted band have an aggressive style to their music which works well with a female dynamic to the aggression. It comes across as more thought provoking rather than than just shouty noise.
Their music is lively which in turn gets the audience nodding and dancing. The room is filled with infectious energy.
If you see a gig with Clever Thing on the bill make sure you get down there because they put on a great show!
